Over the past few weeks, several houses have failed to sell with real estate agents quietly claiming it is purely because of unrealistic reserves. One agent, who did not wish to be named, said one property they listed failed to sell at auction after the vendor factored in a 20 per cent increase in the reserve to offset the rising property market.

The federal government is poised to tip in half the cash for a major upgrade of one of the region’s worst intersections. The Coast’s budget windfall was revealed by Federal MPs Ted O’Brien and Andrew Wallace ahead of Tuesday night’s federal budget. The Morrison Government will allocate $160 million, half of the $320 million required to deliver the long-awaited Mooloolah River Interchange. Patient flown to hospital after Coast mountain fall

Premium Content Subscriber only UPDATE 5PM: A person has been flown to hospital after falling at the Glass House Mountains on Friday afternoon. A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a person, reported to be a male, was winched from the scene and taken to Sunshine Coast University Hospital in stable condition. He had reportedly fallen a distance and injured his ankle on Mt Tibrogargan at 3pm. EARLIER: A rescue helicopter has been tasked to help an injured person after a fall at the Glass House Mountains. Police car involved in Coast crash

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics were called to Kauri Street in Cooroy at 4.44pm for a two-vehicle crash. She said crews were assessing two stable patients, with one person taken to Nambour Hospital. She said the crash was believed to have occured due to a medical episode The spokeswoman said there was no age or gender reported. A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed a police car had been involved in a minor crash.
