The state Department of Education expects to use some of $110 million in coronavirus relief funding from the American Rescue Plan to provide summer enrichment program grants, extend contracts with online learning platforms and establish a statewide model curriculum, according to a report released Wednesday.
It will also set aside about $5 million to cover coronavirus-related costs for a handful for small, rural districts ineligible for education aid through the ARP funding formula, as well as Connecticut’s three endowed academies.

Former UMass men’s basketball forward Ronnie DeGray III is heading to the SEC.
The freshman announced Wednesday on Twitter that he’s transferring to Missouri.
“First I would like to thank God for leading me through this path in finding a new home. I also want to thank my parents for helping me each step of the way,” he wrote in a notes app screenshot. “Thank you to all my teammates for creating bonds that will never be forgotten, we will always be brothers for life. This decision was by no means easy but God always has a plan.”
