The Veterans Plaza of Northern Colorado is a special place, dedicated in May 2011 and officially opened in November of the same year. It serves as a remembrance of the bravery and sacrifices willingly made by our veterans, whether in times of war or times of peace.
The Plaza brings the community together to recognize U.S. military veterans responsible for protecting and ensuring our inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is a place for reflection, commemoration, inspiration, and learning.

On September 11th, 2016 I had the honor to attend the official unveiling of the 9/11 Memorial which at that time marked the fifteenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedies. It s located on the southwest lawn of the Muhlenberg County Judicial Center and soars to eighteen feet in height at its tallest point. The Memorial features a 17-foot long box beam that fell from the North Tower (based on markings it s possible that it came from the 91st floor) of the World Trade Center following the 9/11 attacks in New York City.

BETHESDA Area residents turned out in groups large and small to mark the National Day of Prayer on Thursday with a message of unity, community and asking God for strength to bear up during difficult times.
At St. Clairsville, about 40 people gathered under a tent on the plaza in front of the Belmont County Courthouse.
Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic meant the in-person gathering could not occur, and the faithful viewed a livestreamed event. Organizers said attendees were excited Thursday.
The Rev. Leonard Payne, chaplain of the Family Life Ministry Center Assemblies of God in Bridgeport, was the speaker. He spoke about the importance of hearing God’s call and witnessing love, forgiveness and mercy rather than worldly matters.
