Wicked Local Police are investigating after a caller reported a group of kids that broke into the Veterans Memorial Elementary School and vandalized property. On Sunday at a little after 4:30 p.m., police received a report of multiple kids who brought bicycles into the Vets School cafeteria and smashed keyboards. Saugus Police Chief Michael Ricciardelli said responding officers found several keyboards that appeared to have been smashed, as well as damage to a wall. School personnel later discovered a laptop that might have been destroyed during the incident, Ricciardelli said. Officers conducted an extensive search of the school and found nobody inside, according to police. An open window was discovered in addition to a few unsecured doors through which the suspects might have fled, Ricciardelli said.
