Covid-19 testing at HCC extended and location changed
HOLYOKE - Free “Stop the Spread” COVID-19 testing at Holyoke Community College has been extended through September 2021, according to the Holyoke Board of Health.
Drive-through testing at HCC is conducted six days a week in parking lot H near the western entrance to the Donahue Building on the college’s main campus, 303 Homestead Ave.
However, effective June 1, 2021, testing will move to Parking Lot M by the Bartley Center for Athletics & Recreation on the opposite side of campus.
Wait times for tests are not nearly as long as they used to be, according to site administrators, with only a handful of vehicles lined up at the busiest times.

Edwards is being held on a $250,000 bond.
Officers responded to the area of Frost Road at Homestead Avenue and found a 31-year-old woman who had been struck by a car and suffered serious life-threatening visible injuries.
The woman was taken to the hospital for treatment but was transferred to another facility due to the seriousness of her injuries.
Police said an investigation showed that a nearby disturbance happened before the woman was struck by the car.

Police added that the woman was physically assaulted and was last seen walking on a sidewalk of Frost Road and Homestead Avenue before she was struck by a car.

WATERBURY – Police are searching for a 35-year-old woman who they say left another woman with serious injuries after running her down with her Jeep following an argument early Saturday morning.

Police say they have an arrest warrant for Stacy Edwards, of Waterbury, in connection with a crash that left a 31-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries. The hit-and-run crash that injured the woman occurred near Frost Road and Homestead Avenue at about 2:22 a.m.
Investigators suspect that the woman was assaulted at some point before the crash. As she was walking on the sidewalk after she assaulted, police suspect Edwards drove her 2007 black Jeep Cherokee onto the sidewalk and crashed into the woman, leaving her with multiple injuries.

HARTFORD A woman was killed and a man was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday at a car wash, police said. .
Officers responded to a ShotSpotter activation at the Buggy Bath Car Wash on Homestead Avenue around 1:57 a.m. When they arrived, they found the two victims, police said.
The woman killed in the shooting was identified as Jassmin Lewis of East Hartford.
Officials said both were transported to the hospital. Lewis died as a result of her injuries. The man underwent emergency surgery and remains in critical condition.
