Ken Buck announces bid for reelection in Colorado s 4th Congressional District

The Pueblo Chieftain Republican Ken Buck has announced his bid for reelection in Colorado s 4th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives, having served in the seat since 2015. Buck, of Windsor, has been elected to the house seat four times, and is seeking his fifth term for the district which covers all of 18 counties and portions of two more in the Eastern Plains portion of Colorado, including Bent, Otero and Crowley. The district is considered largely conservative, and has been held by Republican representatives since 2010. “Since 2015, I have been protecting conservative values in Congress, fighting for rural Colorado, draining the swamp, and defending your God-given rights, Buck said in a statement. The American experiment runs on freedom, and I plan on keeping it that way.

BREAKING: Former Officer Derek Chauvin Guilty Of All Three Charges

The verdict is in. Jurors deliberated for hours today (April 20) and former cop Derrick Chauvin was found guilty of all three charges. He was charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter. He pled not guilty.  On April 19, the prosecution made their closing arguments. Prosecutor, Steve Schleicher, argued Chauvin “acted with cruelty and indifference unbefitting of a police officer.” He went on to say Chauvin should be convicted of murder in Floyd’s death. Schleicher, described Chauvin as a “police officer who had not followed the department’s policies while making it clear that prosecutors were not criticizing policing as a whole.”

Hannan applauds Alaska s suit against PFAS manufacturers

KINY Juneau Representative Sara Hannan Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Juneau s state House Representative, Sara Hannan, said she is very pleased about Alaska s lawsuit against PFAS manufacturers. We have been pushing for litigation against manufacturers for two years, said Hannan on Action Line. Gustavus, a town in her district, has groundwater tainted with PFAS. Across the nation, the cleanup costs are in the billions, said Hannan, adding that the state did not have the revenue to fund its own cleanup of PFAS without assistance from the manufacturers. Other states that have filed similar lawsuits won settlements, according to Hannan. Hannan and Juneau Senator Jesse Kiehl have both introduced bills relating to PFAS, their cleanup, and the health of Alaskans. We want to establish a lower standard than exists currently in regulations for what makes safe drinking water with PFAS, said Hannan. I would say no
