A list of child care centers and schools that El Paso County Public Health and Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment have identified with having outbreaks of coronavirus.
Local child care providers were recognized this week for their hard work over the last year. Child Care Connections recognized It Takes a Village child care center in Kings Mountain and Karen Bradley s Home Day Care as the child care providers of the year. Our providers are rated by the state based on their level of training, star ratings and experience, said Shermunda Lawrence, director of provider services at Child Care Connections.

The 170 new outbreak sites in the state listed on the CDPHE s just-released April 28 survey represents a 13.166 percent increase in just seven days and the spike is paced by an explosion of outbreaks at schools in which the overwhelming majority of positive tests involve students. The 52 outbreaks at K-12 facilities account for well over a quarter of the new outbreaks.
