TV NATURALIST Chris Packham and partner Charlotte Corney have given a huge boost to a fundraising competition being run by the Isle of Wight’s RSPCA branch. The Springwatch presenters, who founded The Wildheart Trust charity which runs the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary at Yaverland, have entered the RSPCA’s Home Pet Show by submitting a picture with their miniature poodles Sid and Nancy. The couple have urged other animal lovers to enter the competition which is raising money to support animal welfare activity carried out at the centre on Bohemia Corner, Godshill. The Home Pet Show is an event designed to showcase animals and the special bonds they share with their human companions.

Whether it s a cute pooch or a pussy cat, RSPCA Isle of Wight is on the look out for its virtual One Fun Day.
The Home Pet Show is an all-animal event designed to showcase people’s animal friends and the special bonds they share.
Winners of the Isle of Wight heat will receive prizes and be put forward to regional finals with the potential to be crowned best in show at a nation-wide live Zoom final.
The RSPCA has launched a pet competition designed to showcase special bonds with their owners and raise money for local animal services. The Home Pet Show, taking place from May 17 to June 14, will comprise six main categories – including best trick, golden oldie, and best rescue – with all funds going to the RSPCA’s frontline work. A spokesperson for RSPCA’s Southridge Animal Centre in Potters Bar said: “The Home Pet Show is designed to showcase people’s animal friends and their special bond with them. “Unlike other pet shows, the RSPCA Home Pet Show doesn’t focus on looks or breeding, but prefer to see happy contented animals, their natural behaviours and the special bond they have with each other and their human companions.
