73 FNPF members so far assisted under COVID-19 Response Home Loan Assistance

73 FNPF members have so far been assisted under the COVID-19 Response Home Loan Assistance which commenced on 1st April 2021.
The assistance enables members to dip into their Preserved Account to help pay for their mortgage or monthly repayments.
FNPF has paid out $712,923 to banks/lenders for this assistance so far.
Acting CEO Viliame Vodonaivalu says they continue to collaborate with the banks and lenders on this assistance and they have already identified members that qualify as they must have an existing home loan and an existing moratorium in place.

Fiji National Provident Fund has rolled out the COVID-19 Response, Home Loan Assistance from today.
FNPF Acting Chief Executive Officer Viliame Vodonaivalu says this assistance is specifically for members affected by the pandemic.
He says these members can now access their FNPF savings, inclusive of 50% of their Preserved Account, to pay for their monthly home loan repayments for a minimum of three months to a maximum of 12 months.
Vodonaivalu says the Fund has identified 809 members who qualify for this assistance.
He says eligible members must visit their banks or lenders with a copy of their FNPF eligibility statement.

The Consumer Council of Fiji has welcomed the COVID-19
response (Home Loan Assistance) Act 2020 which will provide
the much-needed assistance to consumers with mortgages in
effect during the COVID-19 relief period and repayment
holidays for home loans.
The COVID-19 response (Home
Loan Assistance) Act 2020 will enable the Fiji National
Provident Fund members impacted by COVID-19 to utilise up to
50% of their preserved account to repay their home
loans.
“With thousands of Fijians either laid off or
working on reduced hours, this Act will ensure that if
Fijians are not able to service their home loans – their
homes will be protected from seizure by banks making sure
