Kisumu records highest number of Covid-19 cases today

 Man gets swabbed for Covid-19 test. [Jonah Onyango, Standard] Kenya has recorded 432 Covid-19 infections out of a sample size of 3,800 tested in the last 24 hours; a positivity rate of 11.4 per cent. The total confirmed cases are now 171,658 and cumulative tests so far are 1,822,216. Kisumu County leads in Covid-19 cases today as 145 people test positive for the disease. Nairobi came in second with 52 new infections while Elgeyo Marakwet, Garissa, Laikipia, Machakos and Mandera counties all recorded one case each. Out of the cases recorded today, 424 are Kenyans and eight are foreigners with 229 being males and 203 females. Today, 306 patients have recovered 217 from the Home Based and Isolation Care and 89 are from various health facilities.

162 people have tested positive for the disease, from a sample size of 3,452 tested in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate is now 4.7%. Total confirmed positive cases are now 170,647 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,809,890. New cases by county; Nairobi 55, Busia 32, Homa Bay 10, Kilifi 10, Mombasa 10, Kiambu 8, Kisii 5, Meru 4, Kisumu 3, Migori 3, Nakuru 3, Nyeri 3, Uasin Gishu 3, Kitui 2, Kwale 2, Machakos 2, Turkana 2, Makueni 1, Tharaka Nithi 1, Trans Nzoia 1, Kajiado 1 and Kirinyaga 1. 643 patients have recovered, 406 from the Home Based & Isolation Caren while 237 are from various health facilities countrywide. Total recoveries now stand at 116,776 of whom 84,832 are from Home Based Care & Isolation, while 31,944 are from various health facilities.
