More Than 10% Jump In Homelessness In Clare

Clare FM Text 086 1800 964 13th March 2021 There’s been a more than 10 percent jump in the number of homeless people in Clare so far in 2021. 75 people in Clare were registered as homeless by the Department of Housing at the end of the first month of 2021 – that’s up from 68 at the end of last year. CONTINUE READING BELOW More than half of people in the Midwest region, which for the purposes of homelessness figures includes Clare and Limerick, are aged between 25 and 44. There are 29 families in the region in total seeking a home – 21 of these are single parent entities. Clare County Council’s monthly management report suggests around half of those seeking a home are staying in emergency accommodation in Ennis, though 13 people presented to the local authority in January under the Homeless Action Team’s Winter Initiative.
