ACTIVE COVID CASES IN COUNTY CONTINUE TO DECLINE

By Kevin Zimmermann Jun 9, 2021 | 4:07 PM The number of active cases of COVID-19 discovered in Sheboygan County continues an impressive decline since the peak of the pandemic last November.  49 cases are now being monitored by the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, the lowest number since 44 were recorded on July 7 last year.  This comes as 4 persons recovered and one of 72 tests received since Tuesday was confirmed as positive by the DPH.  13,859 cases have been recorded here so far, and as of Wednesday, no one was hospitalized for treatment. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services added another 106 new cases to the running total which now amounts to 611,274 cases.  11 more deaths were confirmed as a result of COVID-19, raising the toll to 7,189, and 806 deaths are now listed as “probable” due to the disease, 3 more than on Tuesday.

By Kevin Zimmermann Jun 4, 2021 | 3:55 PM 60 active cases of COVID-19 were know to the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health as of Friday’s daily update, the lowest since 55 cases were reported on July 8th last year.  Facility-wide investigations have also been trending downward, and have not been updated since May 27th when Sheboygan North and South High Schools were the only institutions with active investigations, which remain open for 28 days since the last possible exposure to an active case. Three of 43 test results received since Thursday by the County DPH were positive for COVID-19, raising the running county total to 13,849.  Hospitalizations were stable at 2.

ACTIVE COVID CASES IN COUNTY LOWEST IN NEARLY 11 MONTHS

The number of active cases of COVID-19 in Sheboygan County, as reported in Tuesday’s update from the Sheboygan County Division of Public Health, has reached the lowest level in nearly 11 months.  71 cases were known by the DPH on June 1st, a low level not matched since 68 cases were recorded on July 10th last year.  11 new cases since Friday were outnumbered by 17 recoveries, reducing the active case count by 7.  13,838 cases have been recorded here so far during the pandemic.  Hospitalizations dropped by one patient, to a total of three. Also since Friday, the State Department of Health Services added 379 cases of COVID-19 to a total count that now reaches 610,166 so far in Wisconsin.  Confirmed deaths due to COVID-19 in the state rose by 41 since Friday to a total toll of 7,094.  The 7-day average of new cases in Wisconsin, at 37, has dropped to the lowest since 30 was noted on September 9th last year.
