A group of do-gooders in Marshfield is hoping to lift spirits and clear paths this winter.
The Secret Snow Shoveling Society was started by Mandi Chojnacki, a member of the Wisconsin National Guard. I put the message out on Facebook in a few parent groups that I m a part of in the Marshfield community, asking if anyone would be interested if I put this group together, Chojnacki said.
Now over 100 people are part of the group that helps to shovel driveways throughout the community. It s always good to give back. You have to think of someday maybe your mother or your grandmother or maybe your daughter or someone would need help. And when you give and help other people it just makes you feel good, said volunteer Ginger Heier.

by Sgt. Alice Ripberger, VOLK FIELD, Wis. One of the Wisconsin Army National Guard’s smallest units arrived safely at Volk Field before reuniting with their families Dec. 18 after an 11-month mobilization to the Horn of Africa and Camp Lemonnier, Djibouti.
The five-person 1967th Contracting Team completed demobilization requirements in Texas before state leadership greeted them with a homecoming ceremony different than anyone imagined when they left last January.

SUVA, U.S. Embassy in Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Tonga, and Tuvalu The U.S. Army 322 Civil Affairs Brigade, part of the 9th Mission Support Command (MSC), is currently partnering with three Soldiers from the Army National Guard to conduct civil-military operations in the Oceania region of the Pacific.
The three Guardsmen are Major Patrick Arizmendi and Captain Luis Muruato of the Nevada National Guard and Captain Chris Meza of the Wisconsin National Guard. These states currently have existing partnerships with Fiji, Papua New Guinea, and Tonga as part of the National Guard’s State Partnership Program (SPP).
