Colonel Gulam Mohammad Khan (July 11, 1946-May 1, 2021)
One of India’s leading eventing riders, trainers, and officials, Asian Games medalist Colonel Gulam Mohammad Khan, has died of Covid-19 at the age of 74.
Described by many as a legend of equestrian sport in India, Khan died on Saturday, May 1 in Puna in Maharashtra state.
He was a member of the gold medal-winning eventing team at the 1982 Asian Games in Delhi, and also won individual silver, riding Goodwill. At the next Asian Games, in Seoul, he competed in both dressage and eventing and won team bronze medals in each. He was also the highest placed Indian rider individually, placing fourth in eventing and ninth in dressage.

Kochi (Kerala) [India], March 4 (ANI): Rear Admiral Antony George assumed charge as the new Chief of Staff of the Southern Naval Command and Rear Admiral Rajesh Dhankhar as the Chief Staff Officer (Training) of the SNC.
According to a defence release, both Flag Officers are alumni of the Indian Naval Academy and were commissioned into the Indian Navy on July 1, 1987 and July 1 1990 respectively.
Rear Admiral George is an Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) specialist, who has served onboard frontline ASW ships and commanded the Missile Corvette INS Khanjar, as well as the Guided Missile Frigate INS Tarkash.

Vice Admiral AB Singh inspected the Ceremonial Guard and reviewed platoons of naval personnel drawn from various ships and establishments of the ENC. The ceremony was attended by all Flag Officers and Commanding Officers of ships, submarines and establishments. Later, he also paid homage to martyrs who have made the supreme sacrifice in service of the nation, by laying a floral wreath at the War Memorial on Beach Road, Visakhapatnam.
