New Delhi, May 28 : Two people have been arrested from Greater Noida for cheating over 50 Covid patients and their family members on pretext of providing home delivery of oxygen cylinders, Delhi Police said on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Shahdara, R. Sathiyasundaram said that Vivek Vihar police station personnel arrested the two fraudsters Ritik Kumar Singh, of Bihar s Ara district and Sandeep Panday, a resident of Uttar Pradesh s Ghazipur who used to make promises to provide oxygen cylinder at doorsteps, received money through digital transactions, and then, disappeared.

The national president of a social media group and his accomplice were arrested for allegedly cheating families of COVID-19 patients by promising to provide oxygen cylinders at the doorstep, police said on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Ritik Kumar Singh (21) and Sandeep Panday (28), both residents of Greater Noida, they said.
Singh claimed that he is the national president of a social media group called ‘India Youth Icon Team’, headquartered in Greater Noida, which has 18 lakh youth as active members or followers across eight States, the police said.

Two men, including a Delhi Police constable, have been arrested while two juveniles apprehended in connection with a robbery attempt with a businessman in north Delhi’s Wazirabad, police said on Sunday.
The accused, Jatin who is posted as a constable in Timarpur police station, was arrested while his associate, constable Amit posted in Vivek Vihar police station of Shahdara district is absconding, they said.

NEW DELHI: Former Delhi BJP chief and northeast Delhi MP, Manoj Tiwari, distributed food outside Swami Dayanand hospital and then visited a Covid care centre at Yamuna Sports Complex in Vivek Vihar to see the arrangements made there for patients.

“Under the campaign each and every party worker including MPs, MLAs and councillors is leaving no stone unturned to provide necessary items such as medicines and other equipment to the needy. Issues notices to the Centre and Delhi government, asks for status report on seizure of hoarded material The Delhi High Court Monday asked the Centre and Delhi government to prevent black marketing and hoarding of medicines and medical equipment, including oxygen concentrators.
It also directed the Delhi government to file a status report on seizure of hoarded equipment and medicines and orders passed by the SDMs for release of the same.
A bench of Justices Vipin Sanghi and Rekha Palli was hearing a PIL seeking directions to declare medicines and medical equipment meant for Covid treatment as essential commodities under the Essential Commodities Act. It said if something has to be done, “do it without waiting for orders from the court”.
