Bhopal : Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the hard work of farmers has become the basis of the economy in the difficult conditions of Corona. The rich foodgrain production in the state last year has strengthened not only the state but also the country. The state government is making every effort to double the income of the farmers. By combining Farming-Animal Husbandry-Horticulture-Fisheries, diversification of crops through Cooperatives, food processing, packaging and proper marketing the state’s products will make splash not only in the country but all over the world. The term âbudgetâ in economics is nothing but a statement of the income and expenditure of the government which shows sectoral allocations and expenses.
However, in true sense, budget is a key document that shows the fiscal situation, the future goals of the government, vision of leadership and the progress of the state.
Country’s first Farmers Producer Organisation (FPO) – a green chilli and mushroom processing unit has been registered under the ambit of the Cooperative Societies Act in Varanasi, according to a press release issued by NCDC.
Registered on February 26, 2021, Krishak Utpadak Sanghthan Evam Audyanik Viparan Sahkari Samiti, in village Tikri under Kashi Vidyapeeth Block of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh will be set up for processing high value vegetable products. The focus commodities of the FPO are mushroom and green chilli. The FPO falls within the Prime Minister’s Parliamentary Constituency.
Generally, the FPOs are registered under the Companies Act. However, this is the first time that such an entity has been established under the Cooperative Societies Act as the part of the Government’s Central Sector Scheme titled “Formation and Promotion of Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs)” to form and promote 10,000 new FPOs.
