SOUTHBURY A driver veered off the road and struck a street sign in an attempt to avoid a dog that had run onto North Poverty Road, police said.
Dina Bidmead, 49, of Falls Terrace, Oakville, was not injured in the crash, which occurred just after 3 p.m. on May 29 near Pearson Drive.
The town-owned pedestrian crosswalk sign was heavily damaged.
Bidmead, who was driving a 2018 Dodge Caravan, was issued a warning for failing to maintain the proper lane, police said.
