Blizzard may not announce a new hero for Overwatch 2 just yet, but Game Director Jeff Kaplan may have hinted about a new unique hero coming to the much-awaited sequel.
While some fans were disappointed that the team did not make any character reveal for BlizzCon s game, some eagle-eyed fans believe recent footage may have hinted at two new heroes that might join in the ranks soon.
Blizzard announced their new hero for the immensely popular online first-person shooter Overwatch, the hamster Wrecking Ball.
With the announcement of the 28th hero of the game, the developer released two videos. The first is a traditional cinematic origin story that shows what made the hamster Hammond into the Wrecking Ball he is today. The second is an in-depth look from the developer in which Game Director Jeff Kaplan explains everything about the new hero.
Wrecking Ball is a tank who uses his own mech to wreak havoc on the battlefield in either quadruped mode or ball mode. In ball mode he can roll around destroying everyone in his path. The mech itself is equipped with an adaptive shield that becomes more powerful depending on how many enemies attack it, and he comes equipped rapid-firing guns. His ultimate is a minefield in which he lays down a bevy of mines which great for holding an area.
