Closure order served on Ramsgate flat in Melbourne Avenue

A Ramsgate flat where drugs and weapons were discovered has been closed off by police after a court order was granted.
Anyone who accesses the apartment in Melbourne Avenue for up to the next three months risks arrest, including the previous tenant, after the property was made the subject of a closure order.

During the past year drugs have been thrown out of windows from the flat and there have been visitors at all hours of the day.

Nearly 70 new charges were authorised in on month following investigations by a single Kent Police team.
In total, the Chief Constableâs Crime Squad issued 67 charges during December to suspected criminals for offences including robbery, fraud, theft and burglary.

Many of these have been remanded in custody, ahead of future court dates.
Several offenders were also jailed â including a prolific thief who stole jewellery and mobile phones worth more than £100,000.
