A MOTORCYCLIST was left seriously injured after a crash in Ormskirk, police say. Officers were called to St Helens Road at the junction with Scarth Hill Lane at 1.35pm on Tuesday May 18 following reports of a collision involving a Ford Focus and a Suzuki GSF motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s from Liverpool, was taken to hospital with serious leg and arm injuries. The driver of the Focus, a man in his 70s, did not suffer any serious injuries. The incident happened on a main route in and out of Ormskrik, a short distance from Edge Hill University.

A drug dealer caught transporting a staggering amount of cocaine from Merseyside to the south coast had killed a pensioner in a road crash seven years earlier.
Jonathan Kenney was jailed for nine years last week after he was caught driving his Renault van down to Devon with seven kilograms of cocaine, worth a street value of £700,000, which a judge described as off the scale.
