There s been a significant spike in the number of people playing Selena Quintanilla s music on YouTube since Netflix premiered the second part of its series, telling the story of the late icon.
According to
Billboard, after part two of
Selena: The Series premiered on 4 May, there has been a rise in views of the star s work on YouTube, increasing by 70% by 8 May compared to prior daily average views.
The publication also notes an increase in Selena s music chart activity, referring to December 2020 when she made her way onto the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart for the first time since 2016 - this, after part one of the Netflix series aired.
