Nutrasource gets US Patent for GMO testing method
22-Jul-2021 - Last updated on The United States Patent and Trademark Office has granted a patent to Guelph, Canada-based Nutrasource on “Methods for detecting genetically modified organisms” for its IGEN certification program.
US Patent number 11,060,126 was granted on July 13, 2021, and welcomed by William Rowe, President and CEO of Nutrasource Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Services.
“We are thrilled to announce the reception of this patent for our IGEN program, as we continuously aim to increase consumer confidence promoting transparency,” said Rowe.
“The IGEN certification program was designed specifically to certify that any product, from herbal supplements and vitamins to food ingredients do not contain any of the GMO genes and proteins found in common bioengineered crops.”

Luxfer Gas Cylinders - a leading manufacturer of high-pressure composite and aluminum cylinders worldwide â is joining forces with Octopus Hydrogen â a subsidiary of green energy tech pioneer Octopus Energy â in the specification and supply of bulk gas transport modules that will carry green hydrogen across the UK.
The 40ft long units designed by Luxfer, which are called Multiple Element Gas Containers (MEGC), can transport 1.1 tonnes of hydrogen from the electrolyser plant to the point of use. They will be deployed from mid-2022 and will help address the infrastructure barrier that is impacting wide adoption of the technology.
