The Board of Supervisors will consider the resolution after the supervisors Rules Committee voted unanimously on Monday to bring it to the full board for a vote. Earlier this month, the San Francisco Historic Preservation Commission approved extending the stay of the 150-foot-tall SkyStar Observation Wheel through 2025, in order to reinvigorate the city s post-pandemic economy and help offset SkyStar s financial loss.

12/24/2020, 6 p.m. On Dec. 4, Richmond lost a good, decent and caring citizen, Dr. Willie Woodson, longtime pastor of First United Presbyterian Church in North Side who came out of retirement to pastor Trinity Ghanaian Presbyterian Church. Dr. Woodson was both absorbed and engaged at many levels to advance the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He was kindhearted and contagiously gentle. He was keenly aware of the needs and hurts of his fellow man. He often served in the role of mediator, helping competing persons and diverse verses to become blended and committed to work for the common cause.

Dr. Woodson Dr. Willie Woodson wore multiple hats as a Richmond faith leader. Along with serving as a Presbyterian pastor for more than 30 years, he maintained a busy schedule of community activities, from mentoring city public school students to leading community programs honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and running an anti-crime organization. Known for his cheerful manner and warm smile, he “was a workaholic,” said his sister, Felicia Woodson. “He started working when he was 8 years old and he never stopped.” A Richmond native and U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Woodson’s contributions as a minister and civic leader are being remembered following his death Friday, Dec. 4, 2020. His family said he succumbed to a heart condition. He was 72. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
