Marty Scurll hasn’t had a televised wrestling match since February 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic drove his then-home company Ring of Honor to go on hiatus. It became unclear if or when he would be seen in the ring again when he and ROH “mutually decided to part ways” after an investigation into allegations made during June 2020’s widespread airing of abuse in the wrestling industry known as the Speaking Out Movement. (You can read the allegations here and Scurll’s response, confirming the story but saying he believed the encounter was consensual, here.) However, Fightful reported earlier today that Scurll was back in the wrestling world, and a source shared additional details with Fanbyte about what he’ll be doing.

Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, The Soldiers of Savagery) are your new ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions.
The latest episode of ROH TV saw STP’s Taylor, Kaun and Moses defeat MexiSquad (Bandido, Flamita, Rey Horus) to capture the titles. Taylor pinned Flamita to get the win and the titles.
The title match was originally scheduled for the Final Battle pay-per-view in December, but Flamita and Bandido were pulled from the show due to pre-travel COVID-19 testing. STP cut a promo at Final Battle and refused to win the titles by forfeit, saying they wanted to become champions the right way. STP then picked up a big six-man win on ROH TV last month as they defeated The Foundation (Tracy Williams, and the ROH World Tag Team Champions – Jay Lethal & Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham).

On having had talks with WWE and AEW: “Yeah, every other company contacted me. Had a long talk with Steven Regal at BOLA. It was weird because we’re friends, too, me and Regal. So, we’ve wrestled in Germany together. We’ve wrestled in England together and then he was scouting talents at BOLA. Came up to me, we talked for a while, but it never came with a solid proposition or solid offer. I don’t know if he was there for me to ask or something, but in my mind, at BOLA, at that stage, I didn’t want to go to WWE. It was going to be either AEW or Ring of Honor.”
