WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - Art for All gives the community a chance to support artists during a time when many painters, photographers and crafters have lost revenue.
Art For All is scheduled for Sat., Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sun., Feb. 21 from noon to 5 p.m. at the Brooklyn Arts Center at 516 N. 4th Street.
Jennifer Ray, Director of Events and Marketing at Brooklyn Arts Center, said the event will bring together 40 artists selling one-of-a-kind works priced under $500.
Leading floral designers from North and South Carolina gathered recently in Wrightsville Beach to showcase their floral creations inspired by fine art.
This year’s artwork came from private collections and the Wilmington Art Association. Floral designers received their art assignment from a blind draw weeks before the event.
Judges included National Garden Club judge and Flower Show School Instructor Claudia Bates, as well as NC State Floral Association judge and instructor Tammy Yow Russell. Floral design winners received a cash award, and a beautiful ribbon.
The top floral designers in the 2021 Art & The Bloom competition are:

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, N.C. (WECT) - The New Hanover County Garden Club hosting its annual Art & The Bloom event. This year 28 artists made floral arrangements inspired by artwork from private collections and the Wilmington Art Association. Each arrangement is created with real flowers.
“Designers get six weeks before the event they get a random pic they don’t pick their art,” said Sharon Van Teyens Art and the Bloom Co-Chair. They designed the artwork that we give them.”
