A five-year diary was given to me the next year and daily writings or recordings were constant. Regular or daily writings have continued in my diaries to the present time. Weather conditions or natural events occupy about two-thirds of the space for each date. Perhaps that is why I was contacted about recording and reporting local weather conditions on January 17, 1971. The following morning turned out to be the coldest morning reading ever recorded on that date, two mornings later on March 20 was seven degrees colder. Weather reporting continues into my 51st year, with notebooks loaded with historic weather related data.

Stolen vehicle recovered long way from Michigan home: Mayfield Village Police Blotter MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio Recovered stolen vehicle: Beta Drive A stolen vehicle was located unoccupied and locked in the Hilton Garden Inn parking lot around 12:15 a.m. Jan. 31. It had been reported stolen out of a city in Michigan. Police from that jurisdiction and the owner of the vehicle were notified. The staff believed it had been in the parking lot for about a week. The vehicle was towed, and police are investigating the matter. Disturbance: Aintree Park Drive Officers responded to an apartment at 1:40 a.m. Feb. 1 for a report of a disturbance called in anonymously. They learned loud noises from the apartment came from the residents moving furniture in preparation of a move from the building. They were warned they could be cited for disturbing the peace if further complaints were received.

Woman suspicious of stranger in wheelchair: Highland Heights Police Blotter Suspicion: Alpha Drive A woman said Dec. 12 she was securing her child in a car seat in the Drug Mart parking lot when a woman in a wheelchair approached her and said there was a stick in her windshield. She said she was very persistent in getting her to check her windshield and felt she was trying to distract her. She said the woman left in a sedan with a man driving. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Suspicious vehicle: Hawthorne Drive Officers responded Dec. 8 to a report of a vehicle driving slowly in the area. They did not locate any suspicious vehicles but spoke to a caller, who said they came to the area to see Christmas lights. He said Cleveland Scene magazine said there was a home on the road with lights worth the drive. He said there were no lights to look at and he was going to email the magazine.
