Removalists who travelled all over regional NSW despite knowing they had Covid face jail

Three removalists who allegedly knew they were infected with coronavirus before they drove out of southwest Sydney and visited towns in NSW could be jailed for six months. The men aged 20, 27 and 27 allegedly travelled from West Hoxton in the Covid-ravaged Liverpool Local Government Area to Figtree in Wollongong, before stopping at several towns on their way to Molong, in the state s central west. Police caught up with the trio on Speedy Street in Molong at about 2.30pm on Friday after being notified that they had travelled from a Covid hotspot.  NSW Police Deputy Commissioner Gary Worboys said they had been charged and face six months in jail and fines of $11,000 each.

‘Like we’re children’: Show of force in Sydney’s south-west will put community offside We’re sorry, this service is currently unavailable. Please try again later. Dismiss Normal text size Advertisement There’s a theoretical boundary that splits Sydney. It’s drawn diagonally between Sydney Airport, Parramatta and Sydney’s north-western suburbs. Geoff Roberts, the chief commissioner of the Greater Sydney Commission referred to it in 2016 when he told a group of property developers: “If you are north of that line you are largely a ‘have’. If you are south of that line, you are largely a ‘have-not’.” Research has backed this up. Whether you call it the Red Rooster line, the latte line or the quinoa curtain, overall access to jobs and white-collar work is concentrated in the north and east of the city (above this line), with blue-collar jobs being focussed below the latte line in the south and west of the city.
