Karen Elizabeth Bull Haley Karen Elizabeth Bull Haley Karen Elizabeth Bull Haley passed away at her home in Lyme, Conn., on Feb. 3, 2021, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of 58.  She was born in Presque Isle, Maine, on Oct. 12, 1962. Her parents were Jasper Deane Bull and Priscilla Terry Bull. Karen grew up in Old Town, Maine, and attended the local high school, where she developed a strong interest in art, music and theater and quickly became known for her talent as a pianist and vocalist. Karen had a lifelong love of animals, and initially planned to become a veterinarian, but after one year of veterinary studies at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, she decided that music was her true passion. She transferred to the main campus in Orono, Maine, where she majored in voice and piano. As an undergraduate, she was a member of The 20th Century Jazz Ensemble and University Singers, with whom she toured the UK and Eu

With FRK9 Brooks as its mascot, the Arlington County Police Department is hosting a “Fill the Cruiser” pet supply drive to benefit the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. “FRK9 Brooks has a case of puppy love and is asking for your help ensuring his furry valentines at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington have the supplies they need,” a press release said. “For more than 75 years, AWLA has served the Arlington community with animal sheltering and control services to help pet owners keep their animals healthy, happy, and home.” The drive, this Friday, Feb. 12 from 2-5 p.m., will be held at a contactless, drive-through donation station set up outside the Animal Welfare League of Arlington on the 2600 block of S. Arlington Mill Drive.

Feb 6, 2021 WARREN Cynthia “Cindy” J. Jackson, 62, of Warren, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital. She was born Dec. 12, 1958, in Warren, a daughter of the late Taisto “Bill” and the late Betty Kachenko Packman. On Aug. 4, 1979, she married Channing S. Jackson and they spent the last 41 years happily together. Cindy graduated from Champion High School, class of 1977. She went on to Youngstown State University to study graphics technology, later adding an associate degree in recreational therapy. She was a tremendous athlete who played and lettered in track, softball and basketball. She was part of 1977 All State Ohio First Team. While at YSU, she played basketball from 1977 to 1981.
