Two suspects were arrested recently after allegedly killing a man and critically wounding his grandfather last month in North Carolina.

Now, 23-year-old Tristan Lavonne Stavee is dead and his grandfather, George Cleveland Stump Sr., continues fighting for his life.
“They were just ambushed, and they stole the money and beat and shot both of them,” said Stavee’s mother, Leeann Stump.
WHITEVILLE Two men from Hope Mills were robbed and shot, and one of the men died, according to the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.
On Nov. 29, just after 9 p.m., deputies responded to the 100 block of Sellers Town Road in Whiteville in reference to an unresponsive male on the ground, according to a news release.
When they arrived they found George Cleveland Stump Sr., 73, in a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound and Tristan Lavonne Stavee, 23, unresponsive on the ground, according to the release.
Stump was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. Stavee died at the scene, the release said.
