Minor damages reported in 60 houses following Halmahera earthquake 27th February 2021
An illustration photo of buildings damaged by an earthquake Jakarta (ANTARA) - Some 60 houses incurred minor damages after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake rattled Labuha, South Halmahera (Halsel), on Friday (Feb 26), at around 6 p.m. Western Indonesian Standard Time (WIB), the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) confirmed.
The agency reported on Saturday that 80 members of 40 families were displaced and had evacuated themselves to safer places.
The quake, whose epicenter was located at 0.54 degrees Southern latitude and 127.51 degrees Eastern longitude, also caused damage to a local legislative council (DPRD) building and Labuha regional public hospital, thereby leading to the forced evacuation of the hospital s inpatients to temporarily emergency shelters.

One student sustained a bone fracture, while one student survived, coordinator of the Quick Reaction Team of the Pamekasan District Natural Disaster Mitigation Board (BPBD) Budi Cahyono revealed.
The seven-meter-high cliff collapsed onto the two female bedrooms of the Islamic boarding school following heavy rains.

India Carpet Expo to benefit 20 lakh weavers, artisans associated with the industry
Three hundred buyers from over sixty countries will participate in the 41st India Carpet Expo, mega virtual edition this week, which will provide a platform to over 200 Indian exporters.
The expo is an excellent opportunity for exhibitors as well as buyers, and will benefit 20 lakh weavers and artisans associated with the carpet industry directly or indirectly, pointed out Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Shantmanu in his inaugural address on Wednesday.
The exhibition, organised by the Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), is a five-day event and will be on till January 31.

The five- to seven-year-old male and female dogs belonging to three separate expert sniffer and assault dog breeds Labrador Retriever, Dobermann and Malinois or Belgian Shepherds are being used by the Delhi Police for the last four days in anti-sabotage operations for Republic Day parade security duties.
