Susan Gilbert

Susan Gilbert TORRINGTON – Susan (Dan) Gilbert, 67, of Torrington, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021, after a long fight with kidney disease. She was the loving wife of William L Gilbert and mother of Michael and Matthew Gilbert. Susan was born in Hartford on Sept. 6, 1953, daughter of the late Florence (Rosenstien) and Marshall K. Dan. She was a graduate of Torrington High, class of 1971, and the University of Connecticut, class of 1975. Susan taught at Torrington High from 1975 to 1979. During that time, she organized and coached the first Torrington High girl’s tennis team. After leaving teaching, Susan worked in the accounting industry for various CPA firms and private businesses. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she served as director of finance for NextLevel Marketing in Westport, Conn.

David A Argenta

January 9, 2021 David A. Argenta OAKVILLE – David A. Argenta, age 75, passed away at the VITAS Inpatient Hospice Unit of Saint Mary’s Hospital on Jan. 8, 2021, after a very brief but valiant fight with esophageal cancer. David was born Aug. 17, 1945, to Veronica (Dagenais) and Joseph Argenta Sr., and spent his childhood in Middlebury. In the 1960s, the family moved to Oakville; he attended Watertown High School where he made many lifelong friends and met the love of his life, Lynne Hanson. He asked her to marry him under the South Street Bridge, and they were married April 29, 1967, at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville. Their daughter, Laura, came 13 years later, and they were inseparable.

Glen Still Glen E. Still age 60, of Fremont  Died Sunday December 13, 2020 in the Hospice Unit at Dunklau Gardens. Glen was born October 14, 1960 in Grand Island, Nebraska to John and Janie ‘Argent’ Still. The family moved to Fremont and Glen graduated from Fremont High School in 1978. After high school he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for several years until starting his law enforcement career with the Fremont Police Department. Glen starting working for the city of Fremont in 1986 and retired as a Lieutenant in 2019. During this time he also worked for the Omaha Airport Authority for 3 years and as additional law enforcement for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally for 19 years. After retiring from Fremont, Glen served as the Chief of Public Safety in Mitchell, South Dakota from 2019 to 2020. He then returned to Fremont.
