Addressing at a press conference themed “Golden opportunity for Thai investors in Vietnam” jointly held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand, the Thailand-Vietnam Business Council (TVBC) and Amata Vietnam Public Company Limited on January 26, Tannee Sangrat, who is also former Thai Ambassador to Vietnam, affirmed that Vietnam has been one of Thailand s most important foreign investment markets since its first investment in Vietnam after the country’s policy of Doi moi (Renewal).
Thai investors focus on sustainability in Vietnam

In addition to impressive growth in the number of projects and registered capital, many Thai investors place sustainability as their top concern when investing in Vietnam.
Data from the Ministry of Planning and Investment shows that, in 2020, Thailand has 40 new registered projects, 23 registered capital adjustment projects and 100 capital contribution and share purchases in Vietnam with total registered capital of nearly $1.8 billion. This number is double that of 2019 and nearly seven times that for the period 2015-2020.
Since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1976, the economic relationship between Thailand and Vietnam has developed endlessly. Direct investment flows from Thailand into Vietnam have continuously increased by an average 13 percent per annum over the past 10 years.

For two consecutive years, the strategic sustainable agenda and effective actions taken by Swiss Post Solutions Vietnam (SPS Vietnam) have enabled the company to be honored in the Top 10 Sustainable Businesses – Trade and Service category by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and the Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development (VBCSD).
Launched in 2016, Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam celebrated the first five years of its journey in a ceremony honorably attended by Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, leaders from the government, and nearly 300 representatives from local and international corporations and agencies.
The evaluation of the Top 100 Sustainable Businesses in Vietnam was based on the Corporate Sustainability Index (CSI) containing 127 indexes in four areas: sustainable achievements, corporate management, environment, and labor force.
