Aquatic product exports hit $1.64 bln in Q1
The export of key aquatic products posted strong rises in many markets in the first quarter of 2021, increasing Vietnam’s aquatic export turnover by 3 percent to 1.64 billion USD.
Of note, shrimp and tra fish exports rose 10 percent and 11 percent in March to 270 million USD and 137 million USD, respectively.
Vietnam earned 646 million USD from exporting shrimp in the first quarter, up nearly 3 percent year-on-year, while the export value of tra fish totalled 336 million USD, a rise of just 0.6 percent.

Ministry to boost trade defence measures in line with int’l commitments

As trade protectionism is forecast to grow further around the world in 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT) is set to step up trade defence measures in accordance with international law and commitments.
Enterprises not to take their eye off Covid-19 ball during Tet holidays

Many companies have mandated that employees who visit pandemic-hit places during Tet need to self-quarantine themselves at home for 21 days upon return.
Most require their employees to make health declarations and report their itinerary during
Tet, the Lunar New Year holiday, before returning to work.
Some even require them to report on their health status on a daily basis during Tet, Vietnam s biggest and most important holiday.

The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) canceled a number of train trips scheduled for the Lunar New Year holiday, Tet, as scores of people changed or returned their booked train tickets amid fears over the resurgence of COVID-19.
According to VNR, the SE29 train departing from Hanoi station on February 8 will stop at Vinh station.
VNR will also stop certain other trains from operating comprising the SE30 departing from Saigon station on February 10, 19, and 20; the SE16 leaving Saigon station on February 19 and 20; the SE10 from Saigon station on February 27 and 28; the SE29 from Hanoi on February 21 and 22 and the SE15 from the Vinh station on February 20 and 21.
