Death sentence awarded to student’s killer

Rawalpindi : The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC) No-1, Rawalpindi Judge Shaukat Kamal Dar on Friday awarded the death sentence on two counts to, Muhammad Adnan, in kidnapping/murder case of a teenage madrassa student. The court also imposed a fine of Rs500,000 on him too.
Chakwal Police Station registered a case against Muhammad Adnan and Ejaz Haider for kidnapping and killing a 14-year-old madrassa student, Adnan Ahmed, by burning him in 2019.
Muhammad Adnan confessed his crime while Ejaz Haider was declared innocent. The court acquitted Ejaz Haider from the charges. The accused Muhammad Adnan kidnapped the student and demanded a heavy amount as ransom from his family. But, after refusal, the accused not only killed the student but also burnt his body to waste all evidence.
Man held with 15-kg gold at HSIA

DHAKA, Dec 16, 2020 (BSS) – Preventive team of Dhaka Customs House seized 130 gold bars, weighing 15 kgs, worth around Taka 1.5 crore and arrested a man in this connection at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Tuesday.
The arrested was identified as Lutfar Rahman Munshi, 53, of Mymensingh district, deputy commissioner (Preventive Team) of Dhaka Customs House Mohammad Marufur Rahman today confirmed the matter to BSS.
He said an Emirates Airlines flight (EK- 584) from Dubai landed at Dhaka Shahjalal Airport around 11pm.
The officers of the Preventive Smuggling Prevention Team of Dhaka Custom House, being informed, took position at different points of the airport and started keeping a close watch.
Another 250kg ‘wartime’ bomb found at Dhaka airport’s 3rd terminal site

Another 250kg bomb was found buried at the construction site of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport s 3rd terminal in the capital today.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Bangladesh Air Force recovered a GP bomb at the Dhaka airport.
The bomb disposal unit of Air Force s Bangabandhu Base soon rushed to the spot and defused the bomb, the ISPR said.
Later, the bomb was taken for dismantling in a safe place with necessary precautions, ISPR said in a press release.
SSP Sukkur requests assistance to arrest proclaimed offender

SUKKUR: The SSP Sukkur has requested assistance from the Punjab, KP, IGP Railways and IGP Motorways for the arrest of proclaimed offender Rao Shakir. Reports said the Rao Shakir has been wanted to the Sukkur Police in the murder of Qasim Khuso and other crimes was still at large. Sindh High Court bench, Sukkur, had issued the arrest warrants of the accused and had ordered the police to assure the arrest of Rao Shakir. SSP Sukkur Irfan Samo on Friday had written a letter to the IGP Railways, IGP Motorways, IGP Punjab, IGP KPK and others in which he demanded assistance to arrest the proclaimed offender Rao Shakir.
