Burnham s Priory Court Care Home celebrates Carers Week by thanking care staff

Residents at Priory Court Care and Nursing Home in Burnham-On-Sea have celebrated Carers Week by thanking staff. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. Country Court, which owns the care home, has taken the opportunity to thank its care teams and share messages of appreciation left by family and friends. “Residents wrote thank you notes to care staff, thanking them for taking the time to stop for a chat and for always coming into work with a smile on their face.  They handed out gifts of sweets and chocolates,” says Home Manager Vimal Samuel.

Burnham-on-Sea care home staff and residents receive Covid-19 vaccine

Priory Court was one of the first places in Burnham-on-Sea to receive the jabs. Home manager Vimal Samuel said the staff and residents have been waiting patiently for the vaccinations. “We certainly see this as a step in the right direction back to normality, he said. I’d like to thank all of our residents, staff and family members for their understanding and fortitude during what has been a difficult time for everyone. We are now starting to look forward to receiving guidance for welcoming families and visitors back to our care home. So far, 66 staff and residents at Priory Court have received the Pfizer vaccine.

Burnham-On-Sea Priory Court is among first local care homes to get Covid vaccine Staff and residents at Priory Court Care and Nursing Home in Burnham-On-Sea have received their first Covid-19 vaccinations this week. The vaccination roll-out has started at larger care and nursing homes in the area and, with 61 beds, Priory Court was one of the first in Burnham-On-Sea to receive the vaccinations. “Our staff and residents have been very patiently awaiting the moment that we can start to receive the vaccine,” said Home Manager Vimal Samuel. “We certainly see this as a step in the right direction back to normality. I’d like to thank all of our residents, staff and family members for their understanding and fortitude during what has been a difficult time for everyone. We are now starting to look forward to receiving guidance for welcoming families and visitors back to our care home.”
