Sundance Labs: 20 Up-and-Coming Directors and Screenwriters Named for 2021 Fellowship
Signature workshops include 12 fellows for directors and screenwriters labs and nine fellows cultivating Native artists

The Sundance Institute named on Monday the artists and projects for the first group of its upcoming summer labs. The group includes 12 fellows for the directors and screenwriters labs and nine artists participating in the Native and Indigenous lab which focuses on the development of storytellers from those backgrounds through feature film, episodic work and other pursuits. One artist will participate in both labs.
Elements of this year’s labs will take place digitally via Sundance Collab.
With roughly 4,000 people due to attend, the 2021 Brit Awards will be one of the largest UK events since the country first went into lockdown in March 2020. As many as 2,500 tickets were gifted to key workers as a thank you for their hard work and, surprisingly, guests won’t be required to wear masks or socially distance. This comes as part of a government scheme to examine what live events could look like going forward. Taking place at the O2 Arena, all attendees must provide proof of a negative lateral flow test in order to enter the venue and will be asked to take a test after the event to assess the safety of indoor events. Not a total return to normality, then, but the closest thing we’ve had to it in a very long time. This is everything we know so far.
