KUALA LUMPUR (May 25): Manulife Malaysia has launched a new investment-linked fund, Manulife Global Equity Fund, for customers in Malaysia looking for high-quality overseas stocks and long-term investment horizon.
In a statement today, the company said the new fund will invest in the AllianceBernstein SICAV I – Low Volatility Equity Portfolio (target fund), which seeks to provide capital appreciation by achieving quality and stability through diversification with global equities.
It said the target fund’s portfolio is positioned, so that it is prepared for a downturn and poised for recovery. The Manulife Global Equity Fund is suitable for customers who seek capital appreciation, are looking for investment exposure in the diversified global market, and are willing to accept a higher level of risk with a low-income requirement.

LIAM president Loh Guat Lan
KUALA LUMPUR: The Life Insurance Association of Malaysia (LIAM) has re-elected Loh Guat Lan as president at its recent annual general meeting.
In a statement today, LIAM said Loh will be supported by vice-president, Raymond Lew, for the 2021/2022 term.
Raymond LewLoh is currently the group managing director/chief executive officer (CEO) of Hong Leong Assurance Bhd and has more than 30 years of experience in the life insurance industry, while Lew is the CEO and president of Sun Life Malaysia Assurance Bhd.
LIAM said it also welcomed two new management committee members, Vibha Coburn and Prasheem Seebran.
