A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle Thursday in South Chicago.
The 31-year-old was on the sidewalk about 3:45 a.m. when she fell and crawled in front of a parked vehicle in the 8100 block of South Houston Avenue, Chicago police said. Our redesigned local news and weather app is live! Download it for iOS or Android and sign up for alerts.
Later, a male entered the vehicle and drove forward, striking the woman, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 9-year-old boy was struck and killed by a vehicle while riding his bicycle Wednesday night in West Rogers Park on the North Side.
About 8 p.m., a 48-year-old man was driving a Toyota in the 7300 block of North Sacramento Avenue when he struck the boy riding his bicycle on the sidewalk, Chicago police said.
The boy was transported to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was pronounced dead, according to police. He has not yet been identified.
The CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating the incident. There are currently no charges pending. Next Up In
