Western Cape police have made several breakthroughs in the war against drugs.
Heroin and mandrax worth around R2 million were seized in Cape Town s Westlake and Noordhoek.
This follows a huge drug haul in the West Coast where crystal meth, heroin and cocaine worth around R5.5 million were seized.
Heroin and mandrax worth around R2m have been seized in raids in the Cape Town suburbs of Westlake and Noordhoek.
Further afield in Kraaifontein, dagga products, including cookies, muffins and milkshakes, were confiscated from a house that doubles as a karate studio.
The busts followed the confiscation of crystal meth, heroin and cocaine worth about R5.5 million in the Namaqualand region of the West Coast on Tuesday.

Cape Town - Police are on the hunt for more than 30 Matroos Plein, Kensington, residents who participated in the aiding and abetting of a suspect known to be a gang member in the community who had been apprehended by police for the possession of an illegal firearm.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said: “On Saturday, May 1, 2021, at approximately 3.30am, police saw a known gang member walking with an exposed firearm in Matroos Plein, Kensington.
“The well-known suspect was apprehended and the firearm confiscated. However, during the process, the suspect immediately started calling out for help, and approximately 30 unknown members of the community came out of their homes and threatened to shoot the police members if the suspect is not released.

A pangolin’s life is hanging by a thread after she was rescued from the claws of six poachers in a bust last week in Kyalami. The pangolin, known as Kya, was rescued in a sting operation at Kyalami Corner where six suspects were arrested. The suspects will soon make their second appearance in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court for their formal bail applications. Kya was the fourth pangolin to be rescued this year. The first bust happened in Kempton Park at the beginning of the year and the other two in the Northern Cape – one in Upington and the other.
