The case against two Moorreesburg police officers who face charges of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, has been postponed for further investigation.
Duwayne Williams and Justin Sassman, both currently out on R3 000 bail each, are accused of having assaulted Manfred Lewies in August last year.
Police hunt for Kensington residents who helped gangster flee from cops

Cape Town - Police are on the hunt for more than 30 Matroos Plein, Kensington, residents who participated in the aiding and abetting of a suspect known to be a gang member in the community who had been apprehended by police for the possession of an illegal firearm.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk said: “On Saturday, May 1, 2021, at approximately 3.30am, police saw a known gang member walking with an exposed firearm in Matroos Plein, Kensington.
“The well-known suspect was apprehended and the firearm confiscated. However, during the process, the suspect immediately started calling out for help, and approximately 30 unknown members of the community came out of their homes and threatened to shoot the police members if the suspect is not released.

Western Cape police have arrested six people for tampering with, damaging, or destroying essential infrastructure.
This comes after police officials from Moorreesburg were contacted by a complainant, who is a member of the local farm watch, that an alarm had gone off at Neulfontein Farm in the area.
Police were contacted shortly after 22:40 on Wednesday 28 April, according to the statement on Sunday. The complainant indicated that he noticed on the CCTV footage that suspects were busy stealing cellphone tower batteries. The police officials and the farm watch members went to the N7 and were kept abreast of the suspects whereabouts by another farm watch member.
