Burn The Ballroom
My Saturday afternoon ritual of filling you in on the 5 songs that are rocking my weekend. Turn them up LOUD and rock along with me.
Burn The Ballroom- “Still”
For a band that splits time between having members in DC and Nashville, Burn the Ballroom sure put out some tightly made rad tunes. Their latest, “Spill”, dropped on Friday and my weekend has been better for it. The song gives me JJ72 meets Muse vibes all wrapped up in their own rock n roll sound the boys in this band make. Also I should note this band features one of my favorite Nashville drummers in it, peep Jack Ivins holding down that big solid beat back there. Bring this whole band to Nash my dude, STAT.

94.3 FM The Shark (WWSK Long Island) Morning Show Host Brian Orlando has dedicated his life to music and amplifying the importance of mental health. Through his #Choosesong initiative, which he launched last year at the height of the Pandemic and social isolation he is successfully combining both of his passions by encouraging others to seek solace in the power of song.
Reminding listeners that “with music you are never alone,” Orlando is unveiling his second all-star artist collaboration with Vinnie Dombroski and Andy Patalan (Sponge), Brendan B Brown (Wheatus), Long Island favorites Black Suit Youth and a special appearance and message from the legendary King Of Rock DMC for their rendition of the iconic Stevie Wonder hit “I Just Called.” A quarantine-style video was also released at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iEqbmOQIJg.

Brian Vander Ark, The Accidentals, Jackson Smith and Vinnie Dombroski of Sponge will headline the second annual, live-streamed Spread the Music Festival hosted by Michigan Music Alliance in late March.
The online, virtual festival will feature performances by more than 200 Michigan artists and bands March 24-28, with donations collected for the Michigan Artist Relief Fund that assists musicians coping with serious financial challenges.
The inaugural 2020 festival organized at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic raised more than $11,500 in donations, and organizers hope to raise significantly more than that this year.
