SANFORD POLICE DEPARTMENT Mario Alfonso Walker, 18, of 205 S. Ninth St., Sanford, was arrested at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday on seven counts of larceny of a motor vehicle and one count of breaking and entering. Walker allegedly stole several vehicles in Sanford from Nov. 19-29, police Maj. Vinnie Frazer said. Walker also stands accused of breaking into the office of Willow Oaks Apartments on Nov. 29. William Allen Danforth, 19, of 1003 Mumford Road, Raeford, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 1100 block of Carthage Street on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor injury to personal property. Danforth, while being treated at Central Carolina Hospital for an undisclosed medical issue, reportedly became uncooperative and police were called. An officer who approached Danforth was injured after being kicked in the face, Frazer said. The officer was treated for his injuries and released.
