Cross Creek sets public hearing WINTERSVILLE The Cross Creek Township Zoning Commission will hold a public hearing on the proposed zoning plan and resolution, as required by Section 519.06 of the Ohio Revised Code, at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Cross Creek Township garage located at 1267 Cadiz Road. The proposed zoning plan and resolution, including text and maps, can be examined between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. beginning May 27 at the township garage. Jefferson County sheriff Stolen: A man was spotted removing items from a residence on state Route 646, Richmond, Thursday. The homeowner said the individual, who she believes to be her ex-boyfriend, removed a window air conditioner to gain entry to the residence, removing a television, weed trimmer, shovels, propane grill, a butcher-block style countertop from a kitchen island, a PlayStation 4 Call of Duty edition and several games, a jewelry box containing rings and other items, including diamond earrings. A .38 caliber revolver registered to the homeowner and two dogs also were stolen, deputies said. Trouble on social media: Deputies were notified of teenage girls trading vulgar insults and threatening each other on Snapchat, Tuesday.

Apr 24, 2021 Anthony William (Bill) Pasquarella, 68 of Steubenville, OH passed away on 4/20/2021 after succumbing to his battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Bill was born in Steubenville, Ohio to Anthony & Ruth Mary Pasquarella. He grew up with his two sisters Yvonne & Charmaine. As a teen, he loved spending his time with his neighborhood friends, who are still considered his brothers to this day. As he got older, he attended Francisican University of Steubenville and played baseball and graduated with a degree in Accounting. In his early-thirties, he met his wife Wendy and they were together for thirty-six years. As a couple, they enjoyed attending concerts, sporting events and caring for their children Derek, Jason, Harmony & Shannon. Bill enjoyed watching Pittsburgh sports & riding his 1966 Harley Davidson and took pride in his occupations at Kaufman’s Delivery, Levelor Corporation & UPS, where he spent 24 years, most of which as a delivery driver. OVH/ Trinity Nursing School alumni association to meet STEUBENVILLE The Ohio Valley Hospital/Trinity School of Nursing Alumni Association will meet at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Blvd. It will be the usual covered-dish dinner meeting. This marks the first meeting the association has had since the fall of 2019. The group normally meets twice a year in April and October but both 2020 occasions were canceled because of COVID-10 precautions. There was acknowledgment in the spring newsletter from Melissa Hassan, dean of the school of nursing, that despite a challenging year because of the pandemic, the school’s 2020 NCLEX-RN pass rate was 100 percent. The school ranked third in the state of Ohio for 2019.
