Drink driver A VAN driver who failed to stop after a collision with cars on Winchester Way, Bolton, has been ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work. Wigan magistrates heard how Ian Cochrane, aged 40, had drunk more than double the legal level of alcohol when he drove a Ford Transit Connect van on Winchester Way on March 13. The vehicle was involved in a crash with a Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra but Cochrane, of Swinside Road, Bolton, did not stop. He pleaded guilty to drink driving and failing to stop after an accident and, as well as the unpaid work, was banned from holding a driving licence for 18 months.
