CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport is getting nearly $3 million in federal funding.
Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine announced 11 airports across the commonwealth will split more than $19 million in economic relief.
CHO will see approximately $2.9 million and Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport in Weyers Cave will see just over $1 million.
The funding will support costs for operations, personnel, sanitization, and more.

FREDERICK COUNTY, Va. (WHSV) - A pilot suffered minor injuries after a small plane crashed near Winchester on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Virginia State Police, Jonathan D. Behnke, 42, of Mount Airy, MD tried to make an emergency landing after his single-engine Cessna aircraft experienced engine failure shortly after taking off from Winchester Regional Airport.

WINCHESTER, VA An airplane crashed Wednesday afternoon shortly after taking off from Winchester Regional Airport, according to the Virginia State Police.
The pilot, Jonathan D. Behnke, 42, of Mount Airy, Maryland, suffered minor injuries in the crash and was transported to Winchester Medical Center for treatment, the police said.
The crash of the single-engine Cessna aircraft occurred at around 2:20 p.m. near the intersection of Back Mountain Road and Fishel Road in Frederick County, about 10 miles west of Winchester.
