On Sunday September 12, Friends of King Alfred Buses will be bring its fleet to the city. There will also be a pop-up display the day before. Following a period of limited activity due to lockdown, the group confirms its plans for the weekend of Winchester Heritage Open Days. On Saturday there will be a display of rare local and historic buses and coaches. This will be at the Cattle Market car park in Worthy Lane, Winchester between 12noon and 5pm and will consist of up to 12 vehicles, ranging from 1931 to 1970. Free vintage bus journeys will operate half-hourly between the Broadway and the Cattle Market. Also, there may be a special visitor, a vehicle celebrating its 100th anniversary as a bus, originally used to operate a service between Owslebury and Winchester.
