The West Bengal Forest Department has radio collared a tiger in the Sunderban Tiger Reserve and released it in the wild. According to senior forest officials, the process of radio collaring was conducted on December 26 and 27 (Saturday and Sunday) in Harikhali beat under Bashirat range in Sundarban. A male tiger was radio collared and released in wild.

New Delhi: Indian Railways is making efforts that the entire bullet train project is commissioned end-to-end, at once, said the Railway Board Chairman on Saturday. Indian Railways wants to commission the bullet train project together in both Gujarat and Maharashtra and we have planned accordingly. Maharashtra government has assured to make more than 80 per cent land available in the next four months, said Vinod Kumar Yadav, Chairman, Railway Board while addressing media via video conferencing. If we get the land, then the project can be commissioned in both Gujarat and Maharashtra. We are also preparing whether we can run bullet train till Vapi (Gujarat) in the first phase if there is a delay in land acquisition in Maharashtra, he added.

The Indian Railways has lost around 700 frontline workers, among the 30,000 infected with COVID-19 in the last nine months, according to sources who said that most of those who lost their lives were working amid the general public to facilitate the running of trains during the pandemic.
Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav, in a press briefing on December 18, had said that around 30,000 railway employees have been infected with coronavirus so far and hailed their sacrifice for the public during the pandemic.
