Nisa’s Making a Difference Locally charity has launched a second round of its Heart of the Community Awards initiative, which will support a number of community projects with donations totalling £150,000.
The Heart of the Community Awards enable Nisa partners to nominate a local community project to receive up to £5,000 of funding from Making a Difference Locally, with the emphasis in this round being on good causes that encourage communities to enjoy and spend time outdoors.
Nominations will be accepted from Nisa partners via a dedicated website from 1 April and will remain open until 30 April.
The first round of Heart of the Community Awards saw 34 good causes nationwide benefit from donations totalling £150,000, cementing the initiative as Making a Difference Locally’s biggest funding giveaway to date.
Staff at Nisa Kimberlow Hill donated £2,000 to York Rescue Boat YORK Rescue Boat will benefit from a £2,000 donation from a city convenience store chain. After seeing an appeal in The Press, staff at Nisa Kimberlow Hill near the University of York, decided to donate some funds to the rescue boat team. The money raised is part of the Nisa Making a Difference Locally scheme. Making a Difference Locally is a charity that helps Nisa stores raise money that can then be donated to local charities and good causes. This is done through the sale of selected products in store, including all Co-op own brand items and those from Nisa’s own-label Heritage range.
