Bungie Bringing Destiny 2 to Other Forms of Media
Bungie has officially appointed Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy to oversee the expansion of the Destiny Universe into other forms of media according to a recent announcement. President of Global Consumer Products for ViacomCBS Pamela Kaufman also recently joined Bungie’s Board of Directors, suggesting Destiny will end up on CBS-related media. Destiny 2 is available for free right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Google Stadia, and PC.
Pamela Kaufman, President of Global Consumer Products for ViacomCBS recently joined Bungie’s Board of Directors alongside Trace Harris, a finance and strategy executive. Destiny 2 expansions that were scheduled to release yearly on the same fall development cycle that every other major expansion has released in. It was to be followed in 2021 by
The Witch Queen and culminate in 2022’s
Lightfall. After
Bungie is pretty much just the Destiny studio at this point in the developer’s life cycle. It has good reason to be with the massive and faithful fanbase it’s built up for its premium looter shooter over the years. And with all of that building comes Bungie’s own expansion. Between staff and workspace, the Destiny dev is getting ready to deliver well into the future. More Destiny is a given priority, but it would seem Bungie is also looking to introduce some IPs we’ve yet to see.

Bungie is planning a massive studio expansion that will help the independent, employee-owned developer launch a new IP within the next four years and bring the Destiny Universe to even more mediums outside of games. The expansion comes with a new studio space nearly triple the size of the current studio, as well as a new international office in Amsterdam. It’s also planning a big expansion of personnel and staff, including multimedia experts that will help support the Destiny Universe beyond the game series.
Bungie CEO Pete Parsons said the last several years have been a period of extreme growth for Bungie.
