Destiny 2’s new Season of the Splicer sees Guardians team up with a branch of Fallen, one of Destiny players’ longtime adversaries. This branch of friendly Fallen take refuge in the Last City: Eliksni Quarter area for both protection and convenience. Players can find Fallen all over the Tower and HELM area, mingling with humanity. But the new Fallen House of Light have claimed one familiar spot in the Last City to be their home: the final boss arena from the Scourge of the Past raid.
Bungie added Scourge of the Past to
Destiny 2 back in 2018, just a few months after
Waking Ruins
To access the Vault, players must activate three Vex plates outside its front door, and keep them activated continuously for five minutes. This builds a spire in the middle of the area, which unlocks the gate. If any of the plates become deactivated, the spire will rapidly disassemble.
As you probably know from the main game, to activate a plate, you must stand within it and keep it clear of enemies. Once you’ve captured the plate, Vex enemies spawn in waves and attempt to recapture it. Particularly powerful enemies called
Praetorians should be killed first, as if they make it onto your plate, they will take it over quickly.

Every year or so, one of Destiny 2 s high-ranking developers will write a vast blog post inspecting the MMOFPS s problems and proposing solutions. That might be good, I always think, depending on how they implement it. But the plans are always vague, and have often turned out disappointing in reality. I m quite pleased, then, that the latest blogblast lays out some very specific changes that definitely are welcome. Also, it sounds like they might continue Destiny for many, many years yet.
First, the longest-term news from associate game director Joe Blackburn s 3600-word post: this autumn s annual expansion, The Witch Queen, is delayed into early 2022. Partially it s because the pandemic got in the way, and partially because they want to make it proper good as Destiny s story approaches some sort of conclusion. Players had expected that end to come in that Lightfall, the 2022 expansion, but apparently not - in two ways.

With only one week left in Destiny 2 s Season Of The Hunt, Bungie today announced what s next: Season Of The Chosen. The baddie will be Emperor Caiatl, the daughter of our old mate Calus, after she drops by to politely request our submission. I heard y all are horny for giant ladies? Caiatl has tusks and all. Come meet her in the new trailer.
So, Season 13 s story is that Caiatl stops by Earth seeking an alliance, but not an alliance of equals. We re not dead chuffed about that prospect, so I guess we ll all be lining up and shouting Yeah? Come on! Come on, then!

If you re hoping for a big, meaty campaign expansion to sink your teeth into, Destiny 2: Beyond Light fails to provide a satisfactory offering. Instead, Bungie is leaning heavily on the games-as-a-service side of Destiny 2, offering live events, daily bounties, the first of many season passes, and plenty more to keep players engaged with the minimal amount of content. If you ve been long awaiting the Hawkmoon to make its debut from Destiny 1, that exotic hand cannon is available as part of the season pass and will require a bit of questing to unlock.
What you do get with the Beyond Light campaign in Destiny 2 is a chance to side with Variks, one of the Fallen who has seen the light, so to speak. His role in the House of Judgment first began in the original Destiny title and was a key player in Forsaken and other bits throughout the Destiny 2 lore. After being forsaken (no pun intended) by Eramis, he instead learns to side with the Garduains in hopes of enacting revenge on th
